Worlaby Downhill Challenge 2017
The Applehead Team have been meeting throughout the year, and are pleased to announce that the Downhill Challenge will take place on Sunday July 16th 2017. We are delighted that once again, we have been sponsored by many local businesses and individuals, which not only support the event but also contribute to the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance Trust, our regular charity. The Challenge will follow the usual format, with Gravity Bikes, Soapboxes, and Sidecars all taking part. We look forward to all the thrills of the day, and keep our fingers crossed for fine weather. Refreshments will be available at both the top and bottom of The Hill and Ice Cream vans will also be in attendance. Details of the Order of Events and the 2017 Teams, together with a map of The Course are included in the programme, available on the day.
Worlaby Downhill Challenge Gala Evening
It has become tradition that we have a Splendid Gala Evening prior to the Downhill event. This year it will take place at Elsham Golf Club on Saturday July 15th. The tribute act is Dave Dixon as Neil Diamond. Dave appeared on ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes and has wowed audiences throughout the UK and abroad with his fabulous tribute act. He is a very talented and dynamic entertainer who has an amazing voice, with authentic moves to match. Dave interacts with his audience and is guaranteed to make this a night to remember. Those of you who attended last year’s function will remember ‘Raise The DJ’ who will once again be entertaining us. Apart from his role as DJ, last year, Ray organised some entertainment which raised over £300 for the Air Ambulance Charity. ‘Raise The DJ’ is always in demand and has won many awards throughout the country. We booked their services immediately after last year’s event and we were lucky that they had the date available for this year. Ray and Daniel tell us that they thoroughly enjoyed entertaining Worlaby folk, and are looking forward to the event this year. Ticket details are on the poster and on various flyers around the area.
