The Council

The Council

The Parish Council consists of eight councillors who are elected every four years.

The public are welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings and are allowed to speak to the council for fifteen minutes at the start of the meeting.

Agendas are posted on this website and on the two parish notice boards, both of which are located on Top Road, one opposite Main Street and the other on the junction with Low Road. The agenda is issued at least 3 working days prior to the meeting.

Minutes are posted on this website too.

We welcome the views of residents on local issues. Contact the parish council.

What does the parish council do?

The parish council works towards improving community well-being and providing better services for the village. They are the tier of local government below the level of North Lincolnshire council and are the tier of local government closest to residents.

For more information on the roles and responsibilities of parish councils see the Wikipedia page on parish councils in England.

How is the parish council funded?

The council, like all parish councils, is funded by the parish precept. This is an amount of money that is paid as a proportion of the council tax, collected by North Lincolnshire Council.
